What format are the images in?
All IllustratedStock.com images are in JPG format.
Do you add images on a regular basis?
Yes. We add images as they are taken. Click on "Newest Images" to see the latest images that we have posted.
Can I submit images to sell?
Yes. If you want to be considered as a contributing artist, just create an account by clicking on the link at the bottom left of the page and upload 10 sample images. IllustratedStock.com reserves the right to reject any image for any reason, but we try to be very reasonable about it.

Do you offer refunds?
Once your purchase is made we can not offer a refund. The reason for this policy is because we offer full access to our entire digital collection of images and, as such, there is no way for our products to be returned. On a rare occasion we will make exceptions on a case by case basis.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the IllustratedStock.com images that I download?
Yes. While IllustratedStock.com offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our images, or allow the use of our images within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.
Is account sharing allowed?
No, sharing an account is no different than distributing our materials to others. Individual accounts must be purchased by your friends and colleagues.

Do you accept photographs?
No. Not even if you filtered them using photoshop.
How do I join as a Contributing Artist?
Go to the home page and look on the Artist Sign up link on the bottom left corner. You will be required to submit 10 Illustrations for an initial review. After that you will may submit regularly.
Do you protect my images from theft?
We watermark all of your illustrations. Nobody can download one until they have paid for it and you have been credited.
Will I know which of my images are downloaded?
Yes. We keep detailed statistics. You can login to the Artists area and see real time statistics at any time. Each image that is downloaded is recorded and displayed in your account.
What Kind of Images are you looking for?
We are looking for well executed, tasteful images with commercial value. Our images are used for websites, brochures, flyers, magazines and advertisements of various kinds. Have a look at the categories of our site and help us fill up the different areas.
What Kind of Images are you not looking for?
We want images that are clean, well executed and commercially viable. Anything overly simplistic or poorly executed will be rejected. We need artists who already have some skills and experience. Please consider what designers will be looking for and don�t send us any artwork that you would not want to appear as is in a magazine or other publication. It is up to you to govern yourself and submit only your best. We are a family friendly agency, so please keep you images tasteful and non explicit.
Can I post an image in several categories?
Yes, but please only include your images in categories where it truly belongs. Abuse of this rule by spamming your image across multiple irrelevant categories may result in account suspension or termination.
Can I upload an image that I didn't create?
No. Anything you upload to IllustratedStock must be 100% yours and you must be the sole copyright holder.
What file format do you want my images/images/illustrations in?
Jpegs only please.
How large do my images need to be?
At least 2 megapixels minimum. 3mp is preferred. That means dimensions of 1000 x 2000 pixels at least but we would like to see higher.
Do you accept vectors?
Not currently. Though, that may change with the next version of the site.
How long does it take for images to be approved?
We try to approve everything in less than a week. Sometimes it will be less than 24 hours.
My image was rejected, why?
Due to limitations on our site structure we cannot currently provide details on why an image was rejected. We need images that are well executed and commercially viable. Check our submitter guidelines for our standards. Also, check our Most Popular Images section to see what�s hot.
Do images I submit have to be approved?
Yes. Our review team will attempt to review uploaded images within 5 business days.
If an image is rejected, will I be told why?
No, unfortunately we do not currently have the capacity to explain rejections. This may be added to a future version of the site.
Can I remove my images once they are uploaded?
Yes. Any image you submit can be removed by you at any time. Removal is immediate and not reversible. You can always resubmit the image if you change your mind.
Is there a fee to become a Contributing Artist?
No, we work strictly on commission. You receive 50% of every sale.
Why do you take 50% commission, isn�t that a bit high?
Not really. By industry standards 50% is more than competitive. Remember, we have web hosting, development and Paypal fees to cover for each transaction. That all comes out of our 50%, your side is unencumbered by any of these costs. If
you are interested in opening a Premium Account where you exclusively charge higher
rates for your images, contact our support email and we can arrange a
better commission rate.
Do you require artist exclusivity?
No, this means you are free to sell you images on other sites as well.
I will be scanning my illustrations - what resolution (DPI) should I use?
The higher the better! We suggest using at least 300 DPI for all images. Try to achieve a size of at least 2000 x 3000 pixels.
How many keywords should I add?
Please only use relevant keywords to your images. Keyword spam (padding your keywords with unrelated words) may result in account suspension. Just use what makes logical sense and frustrate our buyers with irrelevant terminology.
How and when do I get paid?
Once your account reaches $100 or more, send us a note and we will send you a check. Simple. Checks go out at the end of every month.
How often will I be paid?
Once a month is the most frequent payment period. (If you are making more than $100 a month of course.) If less, the amount will be carried over until you reach $100.
Is there a restriction on what I can charge.
You may not post an image for less than $1. We have no upward limit at this time. But the average price of images on our site is around $2. If you are interested in opening a Premium Account where you charge higher rates for your images, contact our support email and we can arrange a better commission rate.

Can I join if I am outside the USA and Canada?
Yes, we welcome contributors from all countries. All cheques will be paid in US dollars.
Can my images be removed from the site?
Yes. Illustrated Stock reserves the right to remove any image from the site, at any time, for any reason.
